About Us

Our goals as an organization are to:

• help people understand that by keeping informed of and being active in a healthy democracy is the most reliable way to create the peaceful and sustainable humane circumstances which most people desire to have as a consistent foundation in their lives

• provide links to various news, op-ed, video and audio resources to aid in researching and understanding pertinent relationships between facts, opinions, laws, actions and situations which determine the short and long term consequences effecting people’s lives

• provide links to initiatives, petitions and actions which encourage viewers to get involved in creating fair and balanced solutions that help make America a more peacefully benevolent nation towards it’s citizens and the greater global community

• provide a line of products that allow people to publicly display their awareness and concern regarding various political and social issues – repetition of message is a highly effective method for perpetuating awareness and action.

• help unify and fund the progressive and peace movements by offering our design platform as a foundation for other organizations to place their logos and icons in the blue field and their web addresses in place of ours on our products – contact us to work something out

• 100% of our proceeds are fed back into achieving the above stated goals

Our Design Platform

In this first phase of this project, graphic elements of the American flag are used to create an obvious link to issues closely related to our country. The flag has been cropped to feature the blue field, and the traditional 50 stars (representing only states rights) have been removed and replaced with graphics depicting issues of contemporary social and cultural relevance.   Each design attempts to answer the questions,  'What it is that I want or don't want for my America?'

Some designs are obvious, some are more symbolic statements, some require a bit of decoding, some have multilayered meanings, some are humorous, and some are sarcastic.  The idea is for these images to provoke thought, discussion and again, action!  Future designs and topics of focus are open for your input, please submit your ideas to help us address more of the issues that are important to us all.

Is this flag Desecration?  No. Our designs are not 'the' American flag although there are obvious similarities.  You might be surprised by the wide definition of flag desecration and who has actually done it.  If you would like to do a bit of research on this topic, here is a good place to start.

In any case, it's time that, 'We the people' reclaim the moral and social symbolism of what America and it's flag stands for.  This is the time for us to unite in peaceful but aggressive and persistent action!

A message from Scott Bolden, Executive Director

Dear Friends,

It all started for me as I witnessed the events  of 9/11 simultaneously unfolding, live outside my window and with a slight delay on the TV across the room (fox was the only channel still on the air).  When the towers came down, I felt the vibrations in my feet and smelled, ‘that smell’ for the next 7 months.  That day and for weeks after, I was overwhelmed with a profound sadness and an equally intense desire to understand why this happened and what, if anything I could do to prevent this from ever happening again.

Like most Americans at the time, I wasn’t so well informed about America’s effect on world affairs. I started asking questions, researching, reading, discussing issues, recognizing patterns and started discovering the relationships between political actions and the resulting consequences.  In short, I became outraged at what I was discovering.  I saw the lag time shorten from stories moving from independent media to the major news outlets and more important, the stories that never saw the light of day on major outlets.

I remember thinking, “If everyone knew about this stuff, the country would rise up in angry revolt.”  That’s when it hit me!  Most Americans are just not aware of what’s happening in our country today or for that matter, our history of involvement in domestic and foreign politics.  Folks are too busy trying to make a living and work their way out of debt, just trying to enjoy life in between.  Moreover, many people who are informed don’t feel like they have the power to create change or don’t know what to do.

This is where the concept for My America Too came from, a platform to inform the ignorant, to wake up the complacent and give those who want to create change a medium to do so.  In order to change the disastrous course the country is headed in we all need to re-discover our responsibility to be informed and active citizens.

What we need is nothing short of a national movement akin to the spirit of the 60’s activism with motivated, savvy and capable participants, a new era of effective civil action.  Demonstrations, letters to elected officials, phone calling campaigns, rallies, organizational movements are all necessary components but so is having the issues being present 24/7, 365 days a year.  That’s where we and other organizations like us come in…

Don’t just say it, display it!  We have developed a line of thoughtful graphics relating to current issues that affect us all.  Having these issues visible all the time can help shift the consciousness of our country’s citizenry and it’s elected officials to start focusing on creating and participating in sustainable solutions to various issues.  The time for conceding to group think and fear is over.  Now its time to courageously do your part to stand up and realize it’s your America too!

Of course, we encourage you to purchase something from our site and display it proudly but if you don’t like something on our site, at least make something of your own or buy something from our competitors.  Our primary motivation is to help bring about change by helping you put your opinion out there in the world and take part in The Great American Experiment….Democracy.
